This is a repeat post but its so good, I figured I’d share it again:
A common question that I get in my office from patients and from friends is whether or not massage will do the same thing as chiropractic. And, to be honest, they couldn’t be further from one another. Let’s break things down.
Chiropractic focuses on the nervous system and the body’s natural, inborn ability to function and heal itself. Chiropractic in short, is all about nerve flow! It focuses on identifying areas within the spine that are interfering with the flow of nerve impulses, and reducing this interference through specific spinal adjustments.
Massage, on the other hand, deals primarily with the soft tissues of the body. It focuses on working the superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue . It aids in enhancing function, the healing process, and promotes relaxation and well-being.
Though, the two often work well together, it is still important to realize that one cannot replace the other. Also, be sure to ask him about Genaration Therapies; Dr. Taylor’s preferred massage referral.
