What to Expect

Title 2

What is Chiropractic and how does it work? Dr Edward Beck from Advanced Chiropractic Center explains the basic and vital Principles of Chiropractic. Chiropractors are trained to detect and Correct Subluxations with Adjustments to the Spine. This allows for Normal Function of the Nervous System, which is Vital for Optimal Health. The Body is designed to Heal and self Regulate as long as their is no interference.

Laying the foundation

Chiropractic care is like building a house – certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care . . .

Your First Visit

At your first visit, you will be fully examined by Dr. Taylor; orthopedic tests, neurological exams, posture screenings; the whole nine yards, so Dr. Taylor can determine the best way to treat YOU. You are not just a “back pain” or a “neck pain” in Dr. Taylor’s eyes; you are an entire person and that is what Dr. Taylor treats – the entire person.

Phase 1: Relief Care

If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better. Pain is the last symptom to appear and the first to leave.

Phase 2: Corrective/Stabilization Care

During the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. Pain is typically gone by this stage.  That is why it is important to continue care to prevent injuries from re ocurring.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor about 1 time per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.

It is important to keep in mind that everyone heals at a different rate.  Some may take longer than others with the same condition, but most respond very well to care.  Every patient receives a fully custom tailored treatment plan that can be modified at any time during care.
